Today
we went to see Minter Gardens, a popular attraction near Chilliwack.
It was tulip festival week and they were showing off their brilliant
colors with great vigor and enthusiasm. My other favorites were
the real English hedge maze, a working water wheel, and lots of
great topiaries scattered about.

Nothing
says spring with more conviction and sincerity than a celebrating
tulip!
The
charming little thatched roof cottage surrounded by them with
the mountains looming over it was one of my favorite sites
in the whole garden.

Although
not nearly as large as Butchart Gardens in Victoria, I was impressed
with its layout and the way the paths meandering up and down in
gentle slopes gives you different perspectives of the same scenes,
making them look completely different.
I
loved looking up from the cheerful spring flowers to the snowy mountaintops
- what a beautiful contrast!
