Well,
sometimes I wondered if I was destined to remain in Portland
through another winter, but I have finally made it to Ashland.
Actually, the RV park I'm staying at is in Phoenix, between
Ashland and Medford, but it's only a short distance to both.

| Here
is a scene I came across as I was driving into town - it was
really cool the way the clouds were rolling across the highway
and the mountains - a very nice welcome to my new home. |

| My
first drive around Ashland and Lithia Park convinced me there
is more than enough to explore in this area to keep me happy
during the next few months. I'm at Holiday RV Park and I checked
out the other area parks enough to know I picked the right one
for my stay here. Even though it's close to the highway, it's
buffered enough not to be too noisy and from my front window
I can see a cute little babbling brook and enjoy watching the
squirrels with their long gray tails, larger and different than
their cousins in Texas. The weather's cold, but crispy cold
with lots of sunshine, not soggy dreary cold like Portland,
so I am definitely enjoying that. |

| Looks
like I'll be enjoying some pretty sunsets from my picture windows!

It
took me just about all day to get my satellite up and running,
but it was the first time I had ever done it all by myself,
so I learned a lot the hard way - hopefully that will mean
I'll remember it better and it will be a lot easier next time.
I
had to give up an entire storage bin to carry this thing,
but I do really enjoy having constant internet access again.
See my article
in RVTravel.com about some of the choices available for
surfing the net on the road.
