This
was the last leg of the trip for me and mom. But we were glad that
we had an extra day for the Skyline Drive before she had to head home
to Austin.
Now
mom can say she walked part of the Appalachian Trail!
The wildflowers
alongside the road and in the foreground of views like this was
an extra treat for the eyes.
My mom
always got real nervous when I got close to the edge like this,
but I never could resist and she took the shots anyway.
On this
day we were accompanied by a family of turkeys sharing the road
with us.
Gypsy
was too tired by this point to care...the only time she'd wake up
was when a loud motorcycle passed us. She'd give them a dirty look
and get back to her cat napping.
