I
had been told by several people not to miss visiting Granville Island,
but had only been told that it was a cute artsy community and had
a great farmers' market. We really ended up loving it more than
we expected to given just that expectation.
There
were vendors selling Italian homemade pasta and sauces and I was
finally able to get some of the pecorino cheese I had been searching
for to use in my pesto recipe. We sipped lattes outside of the French
bread bakery in the square listening to a French street singer croon
about the "Champs de Elyse" (or however in the hell you
spell it - I had never even heard it said correctly with a real
French pronunciation before this). We laughed joking that we had
thought it was said like Champs (like the champ in champions)
day Elease. Truly it was a "bon jour."
